One of the most recurring questions when buying a smart toilet is: How do I clean it? Is there any special treatment or product? And although our main concern is the total disinfection and hygiene of our toilet, there is also a common fear of damaging this toilet, which has become the protagonist in many establishments and homes.

CLEANING A JAPANESE TOILET, A consideration:

All our toilets have UV light, and you may ask yourself: What does this do to me, is it merely aesthetic? No. Toilets can generate bacteria that can cause odour and lead to skin and gynaecological diseases. Ultraviolet light damages microbial DNA through ultraviolet irradiation, which causes it to lose its ability to reproduce odours, germs or bacteria. UV light deodorises and sterilises the toilet by producing 500,000 negative ions per minute with a sterilisation rate of 99.99%. It kills all types of bacteria, producing negative ions and eliminating odour.

Automatic flushing. Flushing flushing before and after each use, benefits in this daily sanitation, since it does not allow bacteria or dirt to remain adhered to the walls of our toilet.

Anti-splash foam. But this being a plus in daily use, what products can we use?

The material and colour influence the type of product that can be used to clean them. The following steps to use are merely an example of how you can clean, but they will certainly help you to know how to clean your toilet and which products to use.

Cleaning details around the toilet bowl: To clean the toilet bowl, we usually first use a non-corrosive disinfectant spray and then scrub with a small brush all those nooks, corners, folds and gates near the nozzle and drying area of the toilet. Without rinsing it off, leave it to act for a few minutes.

In the interior area: As a general rule, we can use the disinfectant soap that we are used to using and its manual interior cleaning is very similar to the normal use that we usually give to the classic toilet. It is true that if the toilet is NOT white on the inside, we do not recommend using any corrosive product such as bleach, ammonia, etc. In this case, cleaning vinegar is a good substitute.

On the outside: We recommend using a common toilet cleaning soap without corrosive agents and rubbing with the sponge on the softer side, so as not to scratch the surfaces.

Once everything has been lathered up and left to stand for a few minutes, we then proceed to rinse it with a microfibre cloth with plenty of water. Last but not least, we dry all the areas with a window cleaning cloth in order to achieve a perfect finish and keep the toilet as the first day.
